In late 2015 Tania was commissioned by potter and tea practitioner Robert Davies, to create several items for use in his Japanese tea ceremonies. Robert was keen that the objects reflect the Australian context they will be used in, but gave Tania free rein to develop the pieces in her own way – providing that they were appropriately sized for their particular use in the making, serving and sharing of tea.
The commission included two ‘Kaigu’ sets, each consisting of a water container, waste water container, lid rest and vase, as well as containers for green tea and plates for serving sweets.
